This data point doesn’t even include households who have access to an unreliable car, or a car they can’t afford. Lack of access to reliable transit is a huge barrier to having steady work, being able to access healthcare, being able to buy groceries and other necessities, and staying connected with family and community.

The Central Ohio region is on track to reach nearly 3.15 million residents by 2050.
With the rate our city is growing, we will not have the space to store that many private vehicles—nor should we want to. Pollution from transportation (which includes much more than just tailpipe emissions) is harmful to our health, our environment, and our community.
From 2021 to 2023 there was an average of 114 fatal car crashes in the US every single day.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
